Graham crackers - Homemade!
Who knew? - Graham crackers do not need to come pre-packed! What a revolution! I had had a slow week at work - August can often be a bit slow for me, since it is the end of our season. I try to sleep more, try to have a few days of. And it helps. But help really comes in the form of inspiration. Energy comes in the form of inspiration - at least mine often does! Reading other peoples blogs can be SO inspiring. This time it was Eva Kosmas Flores berry-black pepper cheesecake that woke me up. Cheese cake, cheese cake, cheese cake! There are endless possibilities with a cheese cake. The cheese cake is just a form through which you can explore your creativity. But letting my cheese cake creativity rest on a base of storebought pre-packed graham crackers just seems wrong. Luckily making my own is 'a piece of cake' (lame pun intended).
Makes 10 crackers - enough to make 1 cheese cake.
100 gr soft butter
50 gr sugar
1 dl water
100 gr oats
100 gr flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees. Combine all ingredients with a fork. Roll out thin on a baking paper sheet (you can put an other piece of baking paper over the dough for easier rolling) - or just smear it out with your hands. Bake for 15 - 30 min - depending on thickness of crackers. Let cool.
Make into cheese cake! A cheese cake recipe will be up soon - the one in the picture is with salted caramel! Ohhh yes!
P.s. Of course the crackers can also be eaten with butter and cheese. Or dipped in a cup of tea. Yum!
